Photos from the "Hawaiian Islands Bodybuilding Championships" that took place on June 28, 2003 at the NBC Concert Hall on Oahu.  This was my second year competing in the Women's Figure Divsion (tall class) and I felt that I did the best that I could, despite placing 4rth overall.  Although I didn't place where I wanted to, after looking at the judges scoring sheets and getting some feedback, I was happy to know that I took 1st place in the two-piece round, while placing 4rth in the one-piece round.  After the judges averaged the scores for both rounds, I fell into a three-way tie for 2nd place overall.  In the end when the tie had to be broken, I placed 4rth overall.  If I had received 1 more point from any of the judges, I would've placed 2nd overall rather than 4rth because my score for the 2 piece round was high.  The reason why I scored poorly in the one-piece round was due to the style of my suit.  It covered too much of my body and made my figure look straight and flat.  Well, this year's contest is done and I'm starting to train for next year's, knowing that it's not just about how one's physique looks after training hard and dieting, it's also about getting a swimsuit style that complements one's figure.  Many thanks to my family, boyfriend, friends, and  the Hawaii Athletic Club for training and sponsoring me -- I had a fantastic time!
